Aims and ObjectivesThe Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Convention and Event Management equips students with the necessary academic, operational and professional knowledge and skills to help them perform competently in the convention and event industry. It offers sub-degree (Higher Diploma and Associate Degree) holders in a related field (hotel, tourism and convention and exhibition management) the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications to degree level.

The primary objectives of the programme are to:

• develop graduates who can contribute to the operations and management of a convention and event, hospitality, tourism and /or related service business or organisation in an efficient, effective and sustainable way;

• offer a multidisciplinary education that equips students with the professional knowledge and skills needed for a broad range of complex, managerial and specialised work activities in the convention and event, tourism, and hotel industry; and

• develop graduates who can significantly contribute to the total quality service delivery to convention and event, hospitality, tourism and service-related customers.
FeaturesThe Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Convention and Event Management is a 2-year conversion programme tailor-made to enable graduates of Higher Diploma and Associate Degrees in MICE, Hotel, Tourism, Hospitality or Leisure Management, or related fields, to upgrade their qualifications to degree status. This multidisciplinary programme prepares students for careers at the management level in the MICE industry, either locally or internationally.

This programme is offered by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of PolyU, and is administered by PolyU SPEED. Most of the classes will be held on PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus and PolyU West Kowloon Campus.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the degree will be awarded by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
