Role and Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to provide intensive revision for students to prepare for the CTA examination for Paper 2 – Hong Kong Tax.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
‧ Have in-depth knowledge of the practical aspects of the Hong Kong taxation system;
‧ Apply the tax principles, decided cases and legislations to the Hong Kong taxation system and have an appreciation of the interaction of the various taxes; and
‧ Prepare tax computations on property tax, salaries tax, profits tax, personal assessment and stamp duty.

1) The Hong Kong Taxation System and Tax administration under the Inland Revenue Ordinance
2) Property Tax
3) Salaries Tax
4) Profits Tax (including Depreciation Allowance)
5) Depreciation Allowance
6) Personal Assessment
7) Stamp Duty
8) Overseas Activities, Tax Planning and Anti-avoidance

Entry requirement(s)No entry requirements. Target students are those who will take the CTA Examination Paper 2. No prior knowledge needed for admission. However as this is an intensive revision course for taking CTA Exam Paper 2, students are responsible for assessing if they have thorough understanding of Hong Kong taxation concepts.
CertificationA Certificate of Attendance will be issued to students who have attended 75.0 % of the classes.
