Aims

The CSEAR North Asia Office, in collaboration with the colleagues of the international CSEAR network, intends to facilitate scholarly exchange and disseminate knowledge in the field of social and environmental accounting and accountability by promoting stakeholder dialogue and collaboration between academia, policy-makers, business practitioners and other societal stakeholder groups. In particular, CSEAR North Asia aims to:

  • Operate as a centre for the promotion and dissemination of research and knowledge in the field of social and environmental accounting and reporting;
  • Act as a relevant national observatory of best practice in terms of social and environmental accounting and reporting;
  • Be a reference point for the regional scholars who are interested in the issues related to social and environmental accounting and reporting;
  • Promote research collaboration between academia, business and other society stakeholder groups; and
  • Advocate the education of sustainability accounting as well as green and responsible financing for a more sustainable society

CSEAR North Asia does not operate as a formally recognized association, however it remains strongly tied and secured to CSEAR, which therefore remains the only legal entity to which annual membership is paid.
