Biography

Betty Yung joined PolyU SPEED in 2015.  She completed her PhD in the School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol.  Her PhD research is interdisciplinary in nature, integrating Philosophy, Public Policy and Housing Studies, which was published in the form of a book by the Hong Kong University Press in 2008.  She taught at different tertiary educational institutions in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Education. She is interested in interdisciplinary research and teaching in relation to governance and public policy.  Besides working in the academia, she worked as Senior Researcher at the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government and Policy Researcher for one of the political parties in Hong Kong, thus having a first-hand experience of ‘politics and policy at work’ in Hong Kong which enhances both research and teaching in relation to governance.
