26 enterprises sponsor PolyU SPEED students for workplace learning


 

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University-affiliated School of Professional Education and Executive Development (PolyU SPEED) held its “PolyU SPEED Work-Integrated Education & Summer Placement Programmes (WIE & SP Programmes) Gratitude Dinner cum Movie Gala 2015” on 30 September. The event was joined by about 170 guests, PolyU SPEED students and staff.

A total of 26 enterprises had pledged their support for the “PolyU SPEED WIE & SP Programmes 2015” with a sponsorship amounting to over HK$1 million. The sponsorship was used to offer scholarships and/or internship opportunities to about 160 PolyU SPEED students, benefiting more than 10% of the total student intake and spanning various disciplines of the School. Held mainly during each summer, the WIE & SP Programmes provided valuable opportunities for PolyU SPEED students to experience the real business operations, understand the job requirements, enhance their communication skills and competitiveness so that they can be well-equipped for the career market. With the guidance and support of the employers and PolyU SPEED lecturers, participating students could acquire valuable work experience. To express its sincere gratitude for the support of the employers and recognise students’ efforts, PolyU SPEED hosted a dinner and movie gala to celebrate its fruitful collaboration with the employers.

Dr Jack Lo, Director of PolyU SPEED, presented souvenirs and certificates of appreciation to the employer representatives during the dinner. Students who had accomplished the Programmes were presented with the scholarships by the employer representatives as a token of encouragement. The 26 enterprises which supported the PolyU SPEED WIE & SP Programmes were listed below:

由香港理工大學專業進修學院(下稱PolyU SPEED)主辦的「PolyU SPEED實習獎學金計劃感謝宴暨電影晚會2015」於9月30日順利舉行,約170名嘉賓、PolyU SPEED學生及教職員出席。

「PolyU SPEED實習獎學金計劃 2015」共獲26間企業慷慨支持,除了提供逾一百萬港元贊助金外,還為約160名PolyU SPEED學生提供獎學金及/或實習機會,受惠人數佔學院新生總數逾一成,涵蓋不同學科。這項計劃主要於每年暑假期間舉行,旨在讓PolyU SPEED學生有機會體驗企業的實際商業運作,了解職場的工作需要,從而加強他們的溝通技巧,提升競爭力,為投身職場作好準備。學生能夠在實習過程中獲得寶貴的工作經驗,實在有賴PolyU SPEED講師及參與計劃的僱主悉心指導與支持。為了向參與的僱主表示衷心謝意,以及表揚同學所付出的努力,學院舉辦是次感謝宴暨電影晚會,為本屆「實習獎學金計劃」劃上圓滿句號。

感謝宴上,PolyU SPEED院長羅文強博士致送紀念品及頒發感謝狀予出席的僱主代表。而成功完成實習計劃的同學亦獲僱主代表頒發獎學金,以茲鼓勵。今年支持「PolyU SPEED實習獎學金計劃」的企業共26間,分列如下:
