School of Professional Education & Executive Development (SPEED), co-hosting with Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI) and Institute of Risk Management (IRM), is pleased to announce that a public symposium with the theme ˇ§Hong Kong as a Risk Management System for Sustainabilityˇ¨ will be held on 29 March 2010 at the Hung Hom Bay Campus of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Abstract: Hong Kong as a regional business and financial centre continues to maintain and develop its competitiveness; risk management on the other hand has become an important capability in dealing with systemic and non-systemic risks in order for an organisation to sustain its growth and development. This symposium aims to bring in prominent individuals in the field of risk management to share their perspectives on components within a risk management system for sustainability. The role of institutions in education and training of risk management is explored.
