Aims and ObjectivesThe Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building Engineering and Management aims to produce graduates who can be developed as highly competent and professional building engineers for Hong Kong, China and the international market. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and ability to contribute effectively to project and facilities management teams which are engaged in complex building projects.

Professional RecognitionThis programme is transferred from the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) of PolyU with the core elements of the BRE programme remaining unchanged. PolyU SPEED, with the support from BRE, is seeking the continuation of the recognition from The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM)* after the programme transfer. Full accreditation has already been granted by The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the UK for this programme hosted by PolyU SPEED.

* The existing part-time Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building Engineering and Management hosted by BRE has been granted provisional accreditation by HKIE. It also meets the academic requirements for Corporate Membership of HKICM.
