About the Conference
This Conference is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Public Administration Association (HKPAA) and the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) (with its constituent units: the School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED) and the Hong Kong Community College (HKCC)) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) to mark the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
 
Conference Theme
Retrospect and Prospect on Public Policies, Administration and Management
 
Sub-themes
1. Review of HKSAR’s public policies and administration in the past 20 years and lessons learnt.
2. Current issues and challenges in different policy areas, including but not limited to housing, transport, education, health, elderly, tourism, environment, law and order, and technology.
3. Overseas perspectives, experiences and lessons for Hong Kong.
 
Conference Structure
Part 1 plenary sessions: Top HKSAR government officials, academics and experts from Hong Kong, United States, Korea, Singapore, the Chinese Mainland, and some other countries will be invited to speak and present papers.
 
Part 2 parallel sessions: There will be presentations, from this Call for Papers exercise, by academics, students and practitioners in public sector management and related fields on various subthemes.

Submission of Papers
Please submit abstracts (400 words) and/or full papers (4,000 to 7,000 words) with full name, name of institution/organisation, job title, email and contact number to Dr. Alex Chan, at e-mail: ccalchan@speed-polyu.edu.hk by 14 April 2017. Notification of abstracts and/or full papers acceptance for presentation will be provided within one week after the submission deadline. No registration fee will be charged.
 
Submitted full papers will be considered for publication in the Public Administration and Policy: An Asia-Pacific Journal, published by the Hong Kong Public Administration Association and HK PolyU SPEED (http://journal.hkpaa.org.hk/).
