The first retail and service management competition co-organised by
PolyU SPEED, HKCC and CSAO

 

Co-organised by the programme teams of the BA (Hons) in Retail and Service Management (RSM) of The School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Higher Diploma in Service Management of Hong Kong Community College (HKCC), as well as The College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) Student Affairs Office (CSAO), the first retail and service management case study competition was successfully concluded on 28 January 2016.  The event was the first of its kind in the tertiary education sector in Hong Kong with strong support from  professional bodies and leading companies in the retail and service field.  The Hong Kong Retail Management Association and the Hong Kong Qualification Framework Secretariat also endorsed the competition.  A.S. Watson Group and ImagineX were the corporate sponsors of the competition.

Participants from PolyU SPEED and HKCC were required to prepare a business proposal for Fortress and ImagineX, providing solutions for their retail cases.  Out of a total of 23 participating teams, six were admitted to the final round of competition.  The judging panel was composed of both academics and senior executives in the retail sector, including Ms Annie Wong, Marketing Controller at Fortress, Ms Wendy Ng, Deputy General Manager at Alice + Olivia, Prof. Leslie Yip, Professor of Faculty of Management and Hospitality at Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), and Dr Ida Chiu, Department Head of Business Administration at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Haking Wong (IVE).  Dr Pamela Kwok, Head of Cluster of Business of CPCE, was also present to give souvenirs to the guests.

PolyU SPEED, HKCC及CPCE學生事務處合辦的首屆零售企業及服務管理比賽,於2016年1月28日圓滿結束。這項比賽創本地大專教育界先河,除了獲得零售業界的專業團體及企業的協助,包括香港零售管理協會和香港資歷架構秘書處的全力支持,以及屈臣氏集團和俊思集團的企業贊助。

PolyU SPEED及HKCC的參賽同學需要為豐澤及俊思集團擬訂商業計劃書,解決其零售企業面對的問題。23隊同學報名參賽,其中6隊獲甄選進入總決賽。評審團由學者及零售業界的高級管理人員組成,包括豐澤市務主管Annie Wong、Alice + Olivia副總經理 Wendy Ng、香港高等教育科技學院工商及酒店旅遊管理學院教授葉世中教授,以及香港專業教育學院(黃克競)工商管理系系主任 Ida Chiu博士。賽後,專業及持續教育學院學術總監(工商管理)郭美卿博士頒發紀念品予嘉賓。
