She has been working in the field of English Language Teaching for over ten years, having taught at various institutes such as the former Vocational Training Council and at local secondary schools before joining PolyU SPEED in 2005.

She is currently the English Subject Leader and is a trained Cambridge BULATS examiner and has also gained an in-depth knowledge of the HKCEE, HKALE and the HKDSE English Language papers.

As a Programme Leader, she is interested in showing her students how to apply various linguistics theories and business skills learnt in the programme to communicate effectively in the workplace.

As an English language teacher, she is particularly interested in showing students how to develop and use English, both inside and outside the classroom.

Geeta is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Language Sciences.  Her research interests are varied ranging from feminist critical discourse analysis to educational needs of the Ethnic Minorities in Hong Kong.

Being fluent in Cantonese and Hindi she is interested in studying how cultures and langugages have shifted in Hong Kong and Medium of Instruction and how it applies to language learning in particular.
