Dr Tsui obtained his BBA (Hons), majoring in Information Systems and minoring in Human Resources Management from the City University of Hong Kong. He then completed his Master and Doctoral degrees in Hotel and Tourism Management at PolyU. He is also a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE).

Before joining this institution, Dr Tsui worked for different departments of various hotel and tourism organisations. He started his teaching career in 2005 in the departments of hotel and tourism management of various tertiary education institutions.

His teaching and research subject areas include strategic management, strategic marketing, human resources management, higher education and customer relationship management etc. Dr Tsui has attended and presented academic papers at different conferences, including the Global Tourism and Hospitality Conference, Asia Tourism Forum, Asia-Pacific Forum, and Asia-Pacific CHRIE Conference.
