Udaya is a lecturer in PolyU-SPEED. He teaches subjects related to Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bristol, UK and BScEng from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Udaya has worked in Hong Kong Polytechnic University for 8 years before joining PolyU-SPEED. Prior to that he had been a senior lecturer attached to University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Udaya is currently a Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK and a Chartered Engineer.
