Entrance Requirements - Full-Time 4-Year Undergraduate Programmes

The minimum entrance requirements that you need to meet are:

• For HKDSE qualification holders:
  • Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language;
  • Level 2 in Mathematics;
  • “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development; and
  • Level 2 or “Attained” level in one elective subject.

• For holders of other qualifications:
  • The equivalents of the above requirements.

• For those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year, they may apply as “mature” applicants. They must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully.

HKDSE subject preferences for the following programmes:

• BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering

1. Level 2 in one of extended modules in Mathematics; or
2. Level 2 in Physics or Combined Science (with a Physics component with Level 2)

• BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering

1. Level 2 in one of extended modules in Mathematics; or
2. Level 2 in Physics or Combined Science (with a Physics component with Level 2)

Note:

Applicants with outstanding achievements in non-academic areas such as sports, music, social services and other cultural activities are welcome to highlight such information in the application. The School may give consideration to such achievements and assess such applications on a case-by-case basis.
