Business Students Win “Best Innovative Solution” Award in 2023 Hong Kong Logistics Case Contest

Under the new normal, we need innovative solutions to meet business challenges, and four year-one business students of PolyU SPEED won the “Best Innovative Solution” Award in the 2023 Hong Kong Logistics Case Contest” organised by the Hong Kong Logistics Association on 26 March 2023.

The contest attracted eight teams formed by tertiary institutions, including The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, PolyU SPEED, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, and UOW College Hong Kong, IVE (HK).

The PolyU SPEED team consisted of Lim Mui, Tam Lok-yi and Yu Man-sha from BA (Hons) in Business (Operations and Supply Chain Management) and Yip Kam-ling from BA (Hons) in Business (Finance); they proposed setting up an Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Committee for a logistics company to help boost the company's ESG score, thereby significantly improving its corporate image.

On behalf of the team, Mui said that it was a great honour to receive the award, which is an important milestone in the team's learning and practice. The award has also enhanced the team's confidence in developing their careers in the logistics field. The competition also provided them with an opportunity to build relationships with industry professionals to facilitate their future development.

The team also wants to express their gratitude to Dr Simon Yuen, Award Leader of the BA (Hons) in Business (Operations and Supply Chain Management) programme, for his encouragement and guidance during the contest.
