Exploring Sustainable Tourism at Tai O and Ngong Ping

On 29 March 2025, the Division of Business and Hospitality Management of PolyU CPCE organised the Sustainability Educational Tour “Island Tourism – Study Visit of Tai O Village x Ngong Ping 360 x Big Buddha”, offering tourism management students a unique opportunity to delve into sustainable tourism practices.

The enriching itinerary, crafted by Ngong Ping 360, included a cable car ride, a visit to the Tai O Heritage Hotel, a boat tour of Tai O Village, and an exploration of traditional stilt houses. The students also visited Po Lin Monastery—an institution with over a century of history—and admired the majestic Big Buddha. The tour provided students with valuable insights into sustainable tourism and highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage, fostering a deeper appreciation of responsible travel practices.
