Hong Kong Badminton Rehabilitation Championship Fosters Community Inclusion
20 Jun 2026
The Hong Kong Badminton Rehabilitation Championship 2026, jointly organised by CPCE Volunteer Network (VNET) and The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, was held on 7 and 20 June 2026 at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus.
The scale of this year’s tournament was impressive, featuring 24 service units from nine mental health rehabilitation organisations and over 100 dedicated badminton players. A team of 12 members from the CPCE Volunteer Leadership Training Programme joined forces with more than 40 external volunteers to ensure the event was conducted smoothly.
For the volunteers, the experience proved to be a rewarding journey of learning and growth. They not only explored how to engage with persons in mental recovery, but also received professional training to serve as court line judges. The players’ determination on the court, coupled with the volunteers’ dedication at the sidelines, vividly demonstrated the power of sports in fostering community inclusion.
