Media and Communication Design Student Wins Outstanding Award

Chen Yong-yan, Wendy (pictured right), a year-two student of PolyU SPEED’s BA (Hons) in Media and Communication Design, won the Outstanding Award in the "BEST with LESS Hong Kong Tertiary Sustainable Packaging (F&B Industry) Design Competition" organised by Maxim's Group. The award ceremony was held on 22 September 2024.

The competition aimed to support the Hong Kong SAR Government's regulation of disposable plastic products by soliciting eco-friendly design solutions for containers and packaging used in the group's restaurants. Selected outstanding proposals have the opportunity to be adopted as packaging products for brands under the Maxim's Group.

Wendy formed a team called “WINGIT” with her friend to participate in the competition. Their concept of “Simplicity Leads to Ultimate Sustainability” won them the Outstanding Award. Mr Jack Lam (pictured left), Programme Leader, attended the ceremony to show his support.
