School of Life – Life and Death Expo and Floral Serenade

On 18 October 2025, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department hosted the “School of Life – Life and Death Expo and Floral Serenade” at MOSTown, Ma On Shan.

PolyU CPCE students took part in the event by setting up an exhibition booth themed “Journey of Life” . Through interactive board games and themed cards, they guided participants to explore and reflect on the meaning and value of life. During the preparation and presentation process, the students gained deeper insights into the significance of life and the diverse cultural perspectives on mortality.

The event further featured a special talk by Dr Joseph Lau, Head of Student Affairs and Senior Lecturer of the Division of Business and Hospitality Management, titled “Entering the Mysterious World of Professional Human Remains Air Transport” .The session introduced the practical operations, fascinating trivia, current practices, and future prospects of professional air transport of human remains, opening a window into a mysterious and unusual field.
