PolyU CPCE Annual Employability Forum 2025: "Think Smart, Work Smart: The Gen Z Way" Draws Over 118 Participants

The Annual Employability Forum 2025, themed "Think Smart, Work Smart: The Gen Z Way", was successfully organised by the CPCE Employability Services Office (CESO) at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui on 21 November 2025. The forum gathered around 120 participants, including industry leaders, human resources experts, PolyU CPCE staff and students, to delve into the mindsets, characteristics, and workplace dynamics of Generation Z.

 

Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, along with the College's senior management, attended the event to show their strong support.

The forum featured three insightful sharing sessions by distinguished guest speakers:

Ms Doreen Siu, General Manager - Human Resources of MTR Corporation Limited, shared strategies on "Embracing Gen Z and Beyond: Strategies to Attract and Retain". She provided valuable perspectives from a leading corporation on adapting HR practices to engage the new generation of talent.

 

Ms Fanny Wong, Chief Talent Officer of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, spoke on "Bridging Minds: Understanding and Empowering Generation Z in the Digital Age". She explored how to foster understanding and unlock the potential of Gen Z within innovative tech ecosystems.

 

Ms Virginia Choi, JP, Past President of HKIHRM and Country Manager and Managing Consultant of Tamty McGill Consultant International Ltd., presented key findings from the "Survey on Generation Z in Hong Kong & Mainland: Characteristics and Preferences in the Workplace". Her data-driven analysis offered a comparative overview of Gen Z's workplace attitudes and expectations.

 

Dr. Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED and Associate Dean (Information and Development) of PolyU CPCE, also announced at the forum that the College's Information Technology Unit, Marketing and Communications Office, and CESO will jointly provide on-campus internship opportunities for students, enabling them to gain valuable practical experience.

 

The forum served as a vibrant platform for cross-generational dialogue, providing employers, educators, and students with profound insights into building a harmonious, efficient, and future-ready workplace that embraces the unique values and strengths of Generation Z.
