Career Prospects

  • Graduates will be ready to enter related careers such as Administration, Civil Service, Corporate Communication, Cultural Industry, Editing, Education, Event Management, Marketing and Public Relations.  Examples of related positions are Civil Servant, Communications Officer, English/Chinese Editor, Executive Officer, Language Officer, Project Manager, Researcher, Teacher and Translator.

  • Many local and overseas universities have admitted graduates of the programmes in Chinese Language and Culture into Master's programmes, including The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, University of London, and The University of Manchester

Programme Structure

The programme of study consists of at least 120 credits. All students are also required to complete 300 hours of non-credit-bearing Work-Integrated Education component.

Entrance Requirements

For HKDSE qualification holders:

  • Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language;
  • Level 2 in Mathematics;
  • “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development; and
  • Level 2 or “Attained” level in one elective.

 

For holders of other qualifications:  

  • The equivalents of the above requirements.

 

For those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year, they may apply as “mature” applicants. They must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully.
