Aims and Objectives
The programme is offered under the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Scheme in Surveying and Built Environment which aims to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and competencies for entry to a relevant career.
The Scheme comprises the following programmes:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building Engineering and Management
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Property and Asset Management*
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Surveying
*Remark: The programme is subject to the final approval by PolyU in mid-2021.
Programme Structure
While the normal duration of the programme is 4 years, students may complete the following programme requirements in a shorter period by taking more subjects in a semester/term as endorsed by the Award Leader concerned:

Entrance Requirements
Holder of a recognised Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in related disciplines. Applicants with qualifications in non-construction-related areas will also be considered and, if admitted, are required to take appropriate foundation subject(s).
Notes:
- The main medium of instruction of the study programme concerned should be English. Applicant who has completed the programme with other languages as the main medium of instruction should attain the following English Language requirement: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 (paper based); 80 (Internet based).
- An applicant who does not possess the above-mentioned qualification but has reached the age of 25 before 1 September, in the year in which he/she seeks admission, may apply as a mature applicant. A mature applicant should possess relevant work experience in senior positions and is expected to have completed some post-secondary studies in related fields. He/she will also be required to pass an admission test and demonstrate to the Admission Interview Panel his/her ability to complete the programme. In addition, he/she may be required to take appropriate foundation subject(s).

- Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM)
- The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE)**
* The programme is a CIOB accredited course, having been judged to meet the CIOB Education Framework. Prospective members holding this qualification will have full academic exemption and once they have gained three to five years' relevant work experience, they may enter CIOB membership as an applicant to progress towards Chartered Membership without the requirement for an Individual Assessment. ** Graduates are eligible for Scheme “A” Training in the discipline of Building (BUD).
