The BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering (Top-up programme) is accredited by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Graduates are eligible for  Scheme “A” Training in the disciplines of Aircraft (ACE), Control, Automation & Instrumentation (CAI), Electrical (EL). Accreditation for the 4-year programme is subject to approval by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Career Prospects

• Graduates are able to pursue a wide range of careers, including electrical engineer, building services engineer, design engineer, automation engineer, environmental engineer, manufacturing engineer, or aircraft engineer

Further Study Opportunities

• Past graduates have pursued postgraduate studies in famous universities, such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The University of Hong Kong

The programme of study consists of at least 124 credits (including 3 training credits). All students are also required to complete 210 hours of Work-Integrated Education component.

For HKDSE qualification holders:

• Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language;
• Level 2 in Mathematics;
• “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development; and
• Level 2 or “Attained” level in one elective subject

Subject Preference:

• Level 2 in one of extended modules in Mathematics; or
• Level 2 in Physics or Combined Science (with a Physics component with Level 2)

For holders of other qualifications:

• The equivalents of the above requirements.

For those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year, they may apply as “mature” applicants. They must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully.
