- You will obtain solid knowledge and develop skills in mechanical engineering including thermofluids, mechanics and materials engineering, dynamics and control, design and manufacturing technology
- You can choose to specialise in one of the three technical streams: Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Design and Automation or Mechanical Services and Environmental Engineering
- Upon graduation, you can undergo ‘Scheme A Graduate Training’ in an organisation recognised by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Notes
1. Students who have not met the equivalent standard of undergraduate degree Language and Communication Requirements (LCR) under GUR are required to take up to 9 additional credits in LCR (2 subjects in English & 1 subject in Chinese, 3 credits each). They will be advised if they are required to take LCR subjects on admission.
2. Students from non-related disciplines with good academic results may also be considered for admission to this programme. These students will be required to take up to 4 additional foundation subjects if they have not completed similar subjects before.
3. Students who have completed studies relevant to specific subjects at equivalent level may be granted credit transfer for up to 7 credits on admission.
Entrance Requirements
Holder of a recognised Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in related disciplines. Applicants without sufficient relevant knowledge in electrical engineering, engineering computing, mathematics and/or engineering mechanics will also be considered and, if admitted, are required to take appropriate foundation subject(s).
Notes:
An applicant who is not a native speaker of English, and does not possess an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma or an equivalent qualification for which English was the primary medium of instruction, is expected to fulfil the following minimum English language requirements:
i) An overall Band Score of 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR
ii) A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 for the Internet-based test / 550 for the paper-based test; OR
iii) Satisfactory results in other recognised English language assessments
Individual cases may be considered on their own merit, and applicants concerned may be required to take an additional 3-credit Adjunct English subject upon admission.
- An applicant who does not possess the above-mentioned qualification but has reached the age of 25 before 1 September, in the academic year in which he/she seeks admission, may apply as a mature applicant. He/she must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully. In addition, he/she may be required to take appropriate foundation subject(s).
