Graduates are equipped with strong employability in government departments, charity, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), non-profit-making organisations (NPOs) as Project Officers, Social Services Managers, Policy Researchers / Analysts and Agency Administrators.

Graduates can pursue postgraduate studies in famous local and overseas universities in various disciplines, in particularly, the academic programmes such as Master of Public Administration (MPA), MA in Social Policy, Master of Social Work (MSW), MPhil / PhD in Social Policy.

Notes 

1. Students who have not met the equivalent standard of undergraduate degree Language and Communication Requirements (LCR) under GUR during their prior studies in an Associate Degreee / Higher Diploma programme are required to take up to 9 additional credits in LCR, including 2 subjects in English and 1 subject in Chinese of 3 credits each.  They are English for Academic Studies I, English for Academic Studies II and Chinese Communication for College Students / Elementary Chinese. The additional credit / subject requirements will be reflected on the "My Graduation Requirements" accessible from the Student Portal as the programme commencement approaches. Students concerned are required to pay additional fees after programme commencement.  

2. Students are required to fulfil the SL requirement by taking a SL subject under GUR or the SL-embedded Major Requirement subject within the programme curriculum. For those who take the SL-embedded Major Requirement subject, they are required to take a Free Elective subject under GUR.

3. Students from un-related disciplines (i.e. holders of Associate Degree or equivalent qualification not in Social Sciences related disciplines) with good academic results may also be considered for admission to this programme. These students will be required to take up to 3 additional foundation subjects if they have not completed similar subjects before admission.  The additional credit / subject requirements will be reflected on the "My Graduation Requirements" accessible from the Student Portal as the programme commencement approaches. Students concerned are required to pay additional fees after programme commencement.  

4. Relevant work experience accumulated during or after sub-degree studies may be considered for fulfilment of WIE. Students will be invited to submit application for consideration after programme commencement.

5. Indivdual students who have not fullfilled the English langugage requirements before admission are required to take an additional Adjunct English subject (3 credits).  Please refer to the "Entrance Requirements" section for details.  The additional credit / subject requirements will be reflected on the "My Graduation Requirements" accessible from the Student Portal as the programme commencement approaches. Students concerned are required to pay additional fees after programme commencement.  

Holder of a recognised Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or an equivalent qualification.  

 Notes:

1. An applicant who is not a native speaker of English, and does not possess an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma or an equivalent qualification for which English was the primary medium of instruction, is expected to fulfil the following minimum English language requirements:

   i) An overall Band Score of 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR

   ii) A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 for the Internet-based test / 550 for the paper-based test; OR

   iii) Satisfactory results in other recognised English language assessments

   Individual cases may be considered on their own merit, and applicants concerned may be required to take an additional 3-credit Adjunct English subject upon admission.
2. An applicant who does not possess the above-mentioned qualification but has reached the age of 25 before 1 September, in the academic year in which he/she seeks admission, may apply as a mature applicant. He/she must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully. In addition, he/she may be required to take appropriate foundation subject(s).
