"Empower Yourself" Innovation Workshop Series
Design thinking is a deeply human and extremely powerful approach to innovation. It enables you to tap on your intuitive abilities and harness your perceptions to develop ideas that are emotionally engaging for the people you are designing for. Come join the three workshops that will empower you with innovation skills for problem-solving at work.
Participation is FREE. All participants will receive a Letter of Attendance issued by the Director of PolyU SPEED after attending the workshop.

Workshop 1: Build Empathy to Understand Users
You will learn how to exercise empathy and consider new perspectives to fully understand your users’ values and needs.
Workshop 2: Define Problem to Provide Focus
You will acquire how to craft a problem statement with a clear focus – one which pinpoints how your project can effectively address your users’ needs.
Workshop 3: Ideate to Effectively Spark Creativity
You will practice “ideation”, the creative process of generating a broad set of ideas not constrained by preconceived notions, judgement or biases. You will learn how to stretch your creative muscles and use it to encourage collaboration.
Speaker
Dr Chris Yin is the Award Leader of PolyU SPEED’s BA (Hons) in Business (Innovation and Design Management), the first undergraduate programme in Design Management available in Hong Kong. This unique programme aims to give students a holistic view of the innovation process in developing products and services for all industries and equip them with general business knowledge for their future careers as managers.
The BA (Hons) in Business (Innovation and Design Management) is a new programme first introduced in 2021 under the BA (Hons) Scheme in Business at PolyU SPEED. This is the first and only undergraduate programme of its kind in Hong Kong, focusing on Innovation and Design Management (IDM).

- BA (Hons) in Business (Innovation and Design Management), offered in both full-time and part-time mode, is the first undergraduate programme of its kind in Hong Kong
