Refund Policy for PolyU SPEED Programmes

If you are admitted to a UGC-funded programme…

You may apply for a FULL refund of the registration fee and/or tuition fee already paid on or before the specified deadline specified below.

Refund Policy on Registration Fee and Tuition Fee for PolyU SPEED Programmes

2023/24 (September Intake)

 

Eligibility

The registration fee 1 and/or tuition fee paid are neither refundable nor transferrable except for those listed below:

 

CategoryRefund Amount
  1. Those who are admitted to the following types of programmes: 
  • any programmes funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) 2; or 

  •  self-financing programmes offered by PolyU or other types of programmes offered by PolyU SPEED (e.g. overseas franchised programmes by Northumbria University, excluding PolyU-SPEED award programmes)

A full refund will be arranged (no administrative fee will be deducted from the refund amount).
  1. Those who have failed to meet the prescribed offer condition(s), if any

Deadline for Application

Applications for a refund should be made on or before 14 July 2023 (Friday) or  3 calendar days upon receipt of (i) the offer letter of the eligible programme or (ii) proof of failure in meeting the prescribed offer condition(s), whichever is later.

 

How to Apply

Applications for a refund should be made by emailing the duly completed application form (click Form CAR 15b) to sp.car@speed-polyu.edu.hk with relevant supporting documents, such as the offer letter from and/or the payment receipt of the acceptance fee paid to the institution concerned; or proof of failure in meeting the prescribed offer condition(s), e.g. enrolment statement of the sub-degree programme in the semester of the academic year in which applicants seek admission to the PolyU-SPEED award programme.

 

Refund Arrangements

Successful applicants will receive their refund by autopay in about four to six weeks’ time upon receipt of their bank account information. Requests for arranging the refund to a third party will not be entertained. 

 

  1. The Registration Fee constitutes part of the tuition fee for the first semester of study.
  2. Details of UGC-funded programmes can be found on the website of the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) at www.jupas.edu.hk/en/about-jupas/introduction/ under the category of “University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded Programmes”.  [Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) programmes, programmes offered by Hong Kong Metropolitan University (including those that can be applied through JUPAS) and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) are NOT UGC-funded programmes.]
